Joseph KEY


Joseph KEY was the son of Oliver and Sarah KEY (nee WADE). He married Frances WOOD on February 23, 1819 at Islington, Middlesex. Frances was born about 1800.

They had the following children:

When their son James was born in 1821, they were living in Union Street, Southwark and Joseph was working as a porter.

In 1825, the family lived at Miles' Lane in Bermondsey, Southwark, and Joseph worked as a labourer.

By 1830, they lived at Camberwell Lane in Brixton, Surrey, and in 1833 their home was in Kirby Street Bermondsey, Southwark and Joseph was once again working as a porter.

Joseph died before 1844 (he was listed as deceased in 1844 on his daughter Emma’s marriage certificate).
